Rob Carruth has volunteered on the Peak to Peak Mountain Charter School Board since 2014. He brings his experience as a middle school teacher where he designed, implemented, and assessed lessons for multi-subjects for 6th through 8th graders. He has also worked full-time as the General Manager at Mil Potrero Mutual Water Company since 2007.  He uses his experience of budget and fiscal management to assure that the school maintains its fiscal responsibilities. While making necessary expenditures and improvements to better the quality of the student and staff environment.

Rob received his BLA in Social Studies and completed his Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education from the University of Alaska Southeast in 2006, while simultaneously teaching 6th Grade History in Raton, NM. After moving to California, he made a career change and started working in the water industry. He completed his Masters in Business Administration in 2018. He finds it rewarding to work and volunteer for the community.

Rob has three children. One of his children currently attends Peak to Peak Mountain Charter. His two oldest children completed all 8 years at Peak to Peak before moving on to high school and college. Rob feels it is very important for the community to have a good charter school for our youth.

Terry Page

Peak to Peak Mountain Charter
Board Secretary

My name is Terry Page and I began working with a group of dedicated and visionary parents in 2002 searching for a site for an innovative new hands-on charter school in our area. Our current site was discovered and remodeled into a school site by these determined parent volunteers, who had written and been awarded a half million dollar grant.

Pine Mountain Learning Center, sponsored by El Tejon Unified School District opened at Frazier Elementary on September 29, 2003, moving to this site on a snowy day, November 3, 2003.  We Iater rewrote our charter changing to an independent charter, Peak to Peak Mountain Charter, under the sponsorship of Maricopa School District.

I have taught TK through second grade at different times throughout almost two decades of teaching at our school .  I also taught kindergarten at LAUSD for five years and Manhattan Beach Unified for one year. Retiring from classroom teaching in June 2020, I continue to serve our school as a school board member.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree at CSU Long Beach and my teaching credential from CSU Dominguez Hills.

I have two sons, one daughter, five grandsons, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter. I have lived in Southern California all my life. I have traveled to every state in the United States mostly by RV with my family. I have also traveled to every continent in the world, lucky to have my grandchildren as my traveling companions.

Carolyn Schwantes

Peak to Peak Mountain Charter
Treasurer

Mrs. Carolyn Schwantes retired on June 30, 2021. During her time at Peak to Peak she taught Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Professional Perspective: Teaching children is the window to the future.  Carolyn's position allows her to help them discover their capabilities, guide them to experience education as a lifelong endeavor, and encourage them to reach their potential.  This is the challenge that keeps her in the classroom.  Each day is a new chance to challenge students and instill confidence and independence.  With the Lifelong Guidelines and the Life Skills as building blocks, the students practice and adopt principles that will benefit them in all situations throughout their lives.
